The ProjectEx team sat down and talked about how this conference could be the most effective use of time for youth ministers, incoming college students and current college students. We decided that it had to be slam packed with great speakers and great worship. Done. We decided it had to be short and sweet so that everyone and anyone could attend. Done. We decided it had to be inexpensive. Done (People around NC are partnering with ProjectEx by giving scholarships so that the conference is only $49 per student). Finally, we decided it had to be held at a centralized location. Done.
9 out of 10 students who grew up in the church will walk away from the Church when they leave for college. ProjectEx wants to see that number begin to drop in the state of NC. We believe that if we can connect incoming college students with current college students before that walk onto campus we’ll see this number drop. Students walk onto campus with great intentions but end up lost and nervous about getting plugged into a community of people they do not know. The ProjectEx Conference is going to change that. It will be a great place to build relationships before students even leave for college.
